Entry 1: It Was Surprisingly Emotional

In my last YouTube video, I began the conversation about a stageplay that’s coming May 1, 2026. My goal was to share Restoration Stories with everyone on YouTube leading up to the stageplay. In this entry, I will share what happened after that upload.

Life has a way of throwing unexpected curve balls. I began reviewing my very first book a couple months ago. This book will be available at the stageplay so I needed to begin the relaunch process. I lost the original manuscript in a flood so I hired someone to retype the manuscript for me from an original printed copy. I then went to see the edits and noticed several mistakes that needed correcting after this remake. So I began on the journey of rereading my entire manuscript while looking for these errors.

Let me tell you! This was not a part of my plan. There are several steps to bringing this stageplay to life and rereading childhood was not what I had in mind. So I found myself going on this journey of remembering again. My life today is so far removed from abuse and daily traumatic events. Our brains and bodies have a way of healing overtime and repressing several details. As I read, there was no repressing. Instead, I relived moments all over again. Old emotions and new emotions flooded my mind and heart. So for the last couple months, I have been reading and editing my story. This was surprisingly an emotional time for me.

I read about family members in my life that have now deceased. I remembered the abuse and could literally feel fear trying to grip me as it did when I was a child. Shew! It was a journey that I would not have chosen to take. Once traveling down memory lane, I could see why God wanted me to complete this assignment before the stageplays began. I was reminded of so many things that I have allowed myself to forget. I have been healed in many areas, but needed to remember what it felt like when I was in it.

This upcoming stageplay is designed for women and girls who value reflection, faith, authenticity, healing, and spiritual growth — especially those navigating life transitions, family healing, or emotional restoration. This is created for women, young and old, seeking emotional healing, inner growth, and spiritual grounding. Restoration is the process of returning something to strength, wholeness, and purpose after it’s been damaged, neglected, or broken. Now that the book relaunch is complete and I have journeyed through my childhood again, I better understand the importance of being reminded when in the room of others that are on their journey to being healed and set free.
